"We can't stop talking and dreaming about this West African eatery in Gaithersburg, one of the least expected finds in a seriously suburban community. This joins the growing ranks of ethnic eats in Gaithersburg that now include Thai, American pub and American steakhouse, Mexican and Salvadoran. But none can match the delights produced by the kitchen in this well-scrubbed eatery. Goat as you've never enjoyed it comes in various guises. Our favorite: fufu with goat, a chili-rich soup-stew that might set you on fire if it were not for the cooling effects of fufu, or ground plantain, that resembles, with a little imagination, mashed potatoes. But mashed potatoes with a difference: the texture is creamy-sticky and the flavor, somewhat savory. Other bests here include the jerk chicken, which unlike its Jamaican counterpart, is not so hot that all flavor has been scorched away. Here the chicken is rubbed in a peppery mix that still allows flavors to peek through. And you might want to order a side of fried plantains, so sweet-savory that these become addictive.
